About Tom

I got my start in roofing over 25 years ago, after a family friend offered me a summer job roofing. As a laborer, I was carrying bundles, hauling plywood, doing whatever needed doing. But I quickly realized I didn’t just want to be on the crew. I wanted to lead one. So I pulled together a team, started subcontracting for larger contractors around Rochester, NY, and ran crews throughout college before enlisting in the Marine Corps.

After two combat deployments in Iraq, I returned home and jumped right back into roofing, first as a project manager, then into sales. I’ve worked insurance jobs after storms and learned how to sell retail in the brutally competitive Northeast. I know what it’s like to chase leads, juggle crews, and build a business one job at a time.

In 2016, I joined HOVER as one of their first outside sales reps. I crisscrossed the country helping contractors adopt technology and learning how roofing companies really operate, from Seattle to St. Louis to Boston. That experience gave me a nationwide Rolodex and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities roofers face in every region.

From there, I joined Leap, a fast-growing home improvement tech platform, and spent the next 4.5 years forging partnerships with the leading manufacturers, distributors, technology providers, lenders, and other key players in the space.

Today, I’m the Director of Business Development at Infinity Home Services, one of the largest PE-backed residential roofing companies in North America. My focus is M&A, helping great roofing companies grow by partnering with a platform that respects their legacy and gives them the tools to scale.

Through it all, I’ve stayed close to the industry and the people who built it. I created this site to share practical insights about private equity in roofing, the technology that’s reshaping the industry, and the operational support, like marketing, accounting, and systems, that drives real growth.

I live in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, with my wife Danielle and our two young kids. When I’m not on the phone with roofers, you can usually find me out enjoying the sunshine, at a kids’ event, or strumming along to the latest country music song.
